I bought a set of HRE wheels for my Z, so I put the originals in the cool dry basement so when I go to sell the car I can put them back on and sell the HRE set seperately. Seldom will wheels increase the selling price of the car. the HRE's will bring more by themselves than with them on the car.

I got a set of wheel hangers for Christmas one year and hung the wheels on the wall. Get a ton of compliments when someone walks in and looks at the Z06 wheels. 295 widths look pretty large on the wall..... Then I tell them to look under the car. A little bigger now! 
If you hang them, make sure to scrub the back side or you will leave circles on the wall. Trust me. Two houses marked by yours truly! Bet the last homebuyer was a little annoyed when the wheels were taken down. Oh well. I don't care.
