Default Headers and bullets...not loud enough :)

Ok...I know I must be going deaf already to say this, but I have XS power headers (high flow cats) and B&B Bullets on my stock 99 Coupe with an intake.....sounds amazing but I'd like it a bit LOUDER!

Is anyone else in the same boat as me?...and what did ya do?? Gut the cats? change catback??

Thank in advance, just curious what you would do in my case

No I am not in the same boat as you, you Sir are in the crazy boat while the rest of us here are floating in the normal boat.

With that said, I say no Cats or SLP loudmouth Exhaust if you want louder. Or just run straight pipes with headers and get a ticket from the first cop that hears you.

I would think getting rid of your cats would make it slightly louder.

I had AR Race headers, no cats and bullets and it was SWEET!

Pull the CATS off and smile

cut outs...and you can worry less about cops, and part of the reason for why the cops will be after you, you'll have the ability to tone it down at least a little while driving through residential areas after bed time.

come listen to my car if you want louder. If you want louder then what i have no cats would be the only option left. Let me know if you want to meet up. Ill most likely be at RPM on the 20th also. Head/cam/slp loudmouth 1, headers, high flows. Pretty nasty!

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a huge cam, Longtubes, Cattless X-Pipe and GHL. It's loud, but not loud enough.

I'm seriously considering taking off the GHL and putting on the Ti exhaust with cutouts.

Stock loudness is perfect to me. You're in your own boat. LOL

My car is only loud when I romp on the gas. It's nice quiet when I want to stay low-profile. It's aggressive sounding when I pass people. And I can hear my passenger without them yelling to talk to me while we're on the road. To me, that's perfect.

Loud car = annoying and obnoxious. These cars are classy sports cars. Not muscle or drag cars.

I'm in the same exact boat as you. But this setup sounds just right to me. I agree, it could be even louder. But the car gets enough attention already and I don't have time for court appearances. I already do this when I see police cars. Everyone looks when I start the car or cruise down the highway. WOT is unbelievable. Louder would mean removing the cats and/or adding a cam as others mentioned. Or you could just remove everything and run open headers! Good luck!

I have cutouts for those days when I want to be annoying loud. It gets old sometimes and I like the option of just capping them off. $30 at a local muffler shop.
