Default Third gear ?

Mine hits 3rd gear at about 35-40 MPH, but I assume your talking about WOT? Or I missing something ? You are referring to drag racing? Too Many questions right ?

I havent given mine a run to 100mph in a while, but to answer your question the shift points are programable. East Coast Supercharing (forum member) tuned my computer.

They can be programmed - Find yourself a good tuner and have them do it for you.

If you are talking about shifting at WOT, your '01 shifting into 3rd @ 100mph had the stock 2.73 gears, while your new '00 probably has a set of 3.42 gears swapped in (might even be 3.73?). Can you look under your differential and see if it says what gears you have?

I just checked my tune for my 2002. It has 2->3 set for WOT at 75mph. I do have 3.42 gears.

You may want it to go to 100mph, but that's unwise. If it's set too high, it will bounce off the rev limiter and performance will suffer greatly.

The old car may have had 2.73 gears, which by my calculations would have it's WOT gear change set at 94mph.

Now that I think about it gears make all the sense
Thanks for the input. There is just something cool about a car pulling hard to 100 mph in second gear brings back memories of the zr1 I had.
