I agree. And the shroud and radiator cover kinda help hold everything in place too. I just installed a Honker today, and without the shroud and cover, the radiator and cooling fans are kinda loose... Sounds a little sketchy to me!
I'm still using the radiator cover, but I'm not using the shroud. The radiator cover keeps everything in place... in fact when doing the front plate mod, you remove the shroud. If it seems sketchy to you, the search button will be your biggest friend. Removing the radiator shroud will not work with the honker.
I dont have this setup as Im going thru a pretty different setup. but here's what I did when I deleted the shroud. I had the C5.5 bumper to. Def a CAI with that big *** opening
Hope this shows it enough ( sorry I didnt take many pics of this setup).

That makes sense. I didn't know you had a Vararam with your setup and were using the cover. The "sketchiness" implied no shroud, no cover, and a non-Vararam filter.
I live in Florida and I have a chip so I always run hotter than average in summer but I read about Water on a post and tried it, I've only taken the car out once since I added it but it did seem to make a difference of about 5 degrees.
