speedo gone crazy "HELP"

speedo gone crazy "HELP"
Speedometer shot up to 80 mph after taking off from a light,and I know I was no way near 80 mph, maybe 55 or 60 tops.. anyone have any idea whats going on??? did a search and didnt see anything...

Thanks for the fast reply guy's,, yes the wheels did spin a bit 
from the take off, and I'll check to see if I set to metric by mistake 
because I was messing with the DIC today checking the voltage and other stuff being it's been sitting about 12 day's.. Thanks again and I will let you all know whats happening...

Yes it was on metric I turn the key and seen KPa and yep I had to of hit the E/M button...switched it back... I will drive it later to make sure (battery charging) but has to be it... guy's I was about to go 
again...
