Default Lug Nuts

Does anyone know why some of the z06's look like they have gray lugnuts. The ones on mine are chrome.

Anyone know if there is a variance depending on model year.

Because they did. Some cars came with gray plastic screw on covers which some owners elect to change to upgrade, eliminating the caps (often done with a wheel change).

My car did come oem with chrome lug lugs. The oem were cheap looking which deformed easily. I elected to change them to an after market product which has a better (show) chrome appearance.

I think all C5 ZO6, except the 2004 Z16 edition, came with the silver plastic lug nut covers over the lugs. The Z16 was the only C5 Z06 to come with a different color wheel (polished aluminum) and different lugs to match.

Has anybody replaced their stock lug nuts with chrome black lug nuts on the stock Z wheels?

Discount has them for $2 / a piece.

Next thing to do on my list.
