Always had one in any vehicle I ever owned. I imagine my C5 is going to have one tool.
For those who do carry a tool kit in their vette what sort of tools do you find most useful for what is probably not considered a "quick fix" type car.

A z06 flat repair kit. Other than that Corvettes do not break down.
I carry a set of metric wrenches, channel locks, small crescent, multi-screwdriver, tire plug kit, LED Flashlight and stow it all in that left rear compartment. Air compressor stowed in right rear compartment.

Yes, I've got one in my C5 and my DD. I carry an assortment of metric wrenches, sockets, some screwdrivers, and pliers. If I can't fix something with those, I can always have my car towed to the nearest shop.

Pretty well sums it up for me as well, with the exception of a gm tire sealer inflator kit and AAA card. But as mentioned earlier, they dont usually break down
I have to carry my tools in my wallet...my AAA Plus card. I would terrify a machanic if I walked towards my car with a screw driver. Now my 31 Model A has a lot of tools and spare parts in the trunk.
Has anyone that posted above ever had to use any of those?
I have never carried a toolbox and don't think twice about it. I figure it is unlikely something would go wrong with the car that would cause it not to run that I could fix on the side of the road with hand tools.
My dad on the other hand always carried a toolbox. I know if I were driving around my 1971 Monte Carlo, I would probably bring something to move the alternator, since the belt tension is held in place by pulling back on the alternator really hard and tightening a few bolts, but on a modern car, I doubt I could do much with basic hand tools.
Just a small compressor and a tire repair kit for me.Not much you can fix alongside the road on these cars anymore. Your cell phone prob is your best tool.
I have one of the small, soft-sided SEARS kits and a pair of jumpers. Always carry a flashlight.
I have actually used the tools on other things and have jumped a motorist once, loaned out the jumpers (to another Vette Owner) once also. The jumpers are in a Corvette Bag.

If I didn't own manuals I would agree with jumpers 100%.
All my automatic vehicles have them.
On the manuals I don't worry about it. A quick push start and you are off.
Generally, the tools are to help the pretty girls broke down on the road. Otherwise I have the ever handy cell phone for the flatbed operator to pick my Vettes up.

Well little missus this seems to be your problem here...

Around home I don't carry anything. On a trip I carry the above items and my craftsman 100 piece tool kit. I doubt if I could fix something that caused the breakdown in most cases, should one happen, but it makes me feel better I suppose.
I carry a tire plug kit and a small plug-in air compressor as I don't use run-flats. I also carry a tech sheet outlining the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) so I can at least Identify the problem.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
