I'm in the process of selling my autox/track day Subaru STi and I think the next step is going to be a c5 Z06 prepped for SCCA ASP or SS. One of the most important aspects to me is being able to drive my fun car to work when weather permits, but to do so I'll have to climb over two speed bumps that are about 4" in height.
The factory ground clearance is listed at 3.5", but I imagine that is at the front air dam and I can deal with scraping that. I'm really concerned about the rockers. What sort of rocker height are guys with lowered cars seeing? I believe 6" was stock. Will I clear a 4" speed bump if the car is lower ~1"? Is the rocker the lowest point or do parts of the exhaust hang lower?

Yes the C5 is low and I lowered mine, I have learned how to go over speed bumps without any issues, I would also install a set of rail savers from elite engineering, Well worth the money.
Mr.Bill
My Z06 is lowered so I have 4 inches of ground clearance along the bottom of the rocker panels. However, the car has long tube headers so there is only 3 1/2 inches of ground clearance at the catalytic converters. I have found it is very easy to scrape the converters, especially when going into or coming out of parking lots where you go up and then go down.
My car is lowered an inch and a half or so.... Soon to be raised back up though. In most cases you will be ok you learn quickly what you can and cannot go over. I've never had a problem with speed bumps, but steep driveways are killer. Along with road construction and the occasional dead kitty cat in the road are what usually gets me.
I think mine is about 4.5 right behind the drivers wheel (I never lowered it and believe it to be stock). I dont think you are gonna get any lowering done on a stock one and still deal with 4" speed bumps.
