I just bought an 01 z06 with 53k and I love it. Few bolts-ons and is a great car and my first chevy Picked a hell of a car to try an impress me. I will always love my SHO's people dont beleive when I say this taurus is faster than this car. Then again neither do they beleive when I say the vette is mine.
Anyways So heres a question I have I couldnt find out threw the forums on the corvette. The best way to descibe it is it has 2 settings. Sometimes I it will be "normal" and responds great. Probably just like any z06. As soon as u touch the pedal engine responds and pedass feels perfect. Then sometimes while Im driving or just as soon as I start it up the pedal seems....unsensitive. I can push it down 1 to 1.5 inches before it even effects the engine. And its makes it not nearly as responsive. PITA to as I have to relearn the touch of the pedal. Then I can restart and it will back to the normal responsive self. more than not its stuck in this unresponvie pedal.
I have no expirence with drive by wire. IMO I like a throttle cable attach to my pedal but w/e. I am just hoping this is an easy fix. There are no codes that would effect this. ( Ihave an air pump code but ill fix that soon enough) So anybody with a similar problem or figure a way to start diagnosing it. I can not replicate it and there are no codes
TIA
Justin

First off I'm was not being a smartass. It's the internet. Imo his comment is the smartass comment
Fine wats that post suppose to mean, to me its useless. Maybe to u senior members its an joke or something. Idk I'm just asking a question b/c I couldn't find an answer searching. I didn't come on here like a newb asking bout a common problems, I used the search button.
My first guess would be the throttle position sensor. Not a difficult or expensive part to replace. Next check all wiring for looseness, grounding, corrosion at connectors from the pedal and sensor to the solenoid on the throttle body. The car could be going into "LIMP" mode due to some other sensor malfunction. Have you run the codes from the drivers info center and does it show any messages when the pedal is not responsive ?. These codes can provide a bunch of additional info that can lead to a solution. Run the codes and post them, maybe we can help.

First off I m not a senior member, You need to go back to school and brush up on your grammar a bit...
My boss pointed this out to me the other day after he drove a C6Z06 and I had never really thought anything of it, but after he said it I noticed the "dead spot" in the begining pedal as well (not much but it is there). I've driven most every year C5/C6 I think it is just normal.
Always trolling around... give the guy a break! He is asking a valid question. ztheusa made a jack *** comment.
Now shew!

Sorry you are being knocked around by some folks...it is a valid question and this is a phenomenon I have been wrestling with with my 03Z. It responds much better when engine is on the cool side also much better in cooler weather. After driving for a while, maybe 30 minutes or so esp in
hot weather...response seems sluggish. So far I have not found a real
solution...but I think there are custom tuners who can get around this.
I still haven't messed with it. Fixed my air pump though. Vac line was broke easy fix.
The throttle problem is still there. I've auto-x 3 weekends in arrow and it comes up a lot when I shut the car off and on a lot. Usually it goes away before I run thank god.
It's all good. I'm the FNG...fuc*in new guy. It's fine I have a z06, can mod it, and will be auto-x /tracking it. At 22. Their not bothering me!!
