Hey all! I am happy to finally call myself a corvette owner! For years I have lurked on the sites and I finally bought one So I will ask alot of questions.

Literally 3 hours after I picked up the C5 this happened...

We stopped at Cracker Barrel because I have never eaten there before. I parked first and as I was idling there waiting for my roommate to pull in and park. She HIT my rear bumper for some reason as I was sitting there I had watched her pull in I saw her front bumper get pretty close and I thought to myself "No she isnt going to hit me".
Wrong BAM I got out and just stared at the damage.. She was freaking out waiting for me to just start yelling and throwing stuff.. but nothing.. I guess I was just in shock :X No I didnt punish her at all lol..

I am completely over it.

On the car itself, I love it! It has gotten more compliments and looks then any of my other cars.
I cant wait to finally meet up on a cruise with other vets sometime but beaufort isnt very popular for car meets so even if meets start they eventually die. Oh well looking forward to meeting some of you!

Congrats on the vette ! My brother-in-law used to live in Beaufort SC, he was a marine based at the military airport nearby.

Sorry about your luck. If it is any consolation, thankfully it isn't THAT horrible and noticeable. Some of it may be able to buff out. Still does suck though, especially after you just got the car.

How about some pics of the WHOLE car? Is that pewter or medium spiral grey metallic?

Congrats on getting the car and sorry that the first day of ownership had to be one where you car got hit. Good luck getting it fixed and I'd say your roommate owes you big time.

Congrat's on joining the forum and you loang awaited purchase. Many of us know your joy when we get our first Corvette

Bummer about the "nudge" hope it will buff out.

Pewter is an awesome color, I am a tad biased

Congrats on your new car! I'll bet a lot of that can be buffed right out.

Congrats on becoming a Corvette owner! It's great to see your enthusiasm, too. As has been said above, there's a good chance much of the damage will buff out. It'll still be there, but maybe not as noticeable.

Congrats on the new Corvette!

Your story sound very similar to mine. Just watched someone back right up into me at about 5mph.

Is it a design flaw that my roof leaks on both sides from the little holes that are molded into the rubber? Got caught out in the rain and it leaks

Definitely not. You probably need to replace the weatherstripping.

What he said. Looks pretty minor, thank goodness. Beautiful car in any case.

from the distant look of the top in the video, it looks like it's an aftermarket top. I did not see the gutter tab on there. If you can get a closer picture of the top gutters, it would determine if the top is original or not.
I went with an aftermarket top before , and it always leaked. I tossed it and bought a factory unit, and the leaks stopped. That was a few years ago on a 97 coupe I had.

Congrats on the ride. Looks as good as it sounds
