I tried buying some Duplicolor touch up paint at my local auto parts store. It was supposed to be 88U Medium Spiral Gray but it wasn't even close.

silvers are very tough to match, let alone apply so the reflecton matches that of the factory surface. Most shops would have to paint the whole side of a silver car to get the reflection match to be uniform. Chances are you will not be able to make a scratch disappear with a silver metalic color. best bet is the dealership, even with the right paint code, your aplication will not be that of the factory. Non metalic colors are much easier to match.. Torch red is an easy color to match.

Metallics are a PITA to get just right, although on my '00 pewter metallic car the factory touch up paint did a pretty good job of matching up.
