The system is fully charged and within specs on the low side and high side. The car has no HVAC codes. I re-indexed the actuators thru the diagnostics and pulled fuse #27 while running. The compressor is kicking on and running consistently as soon as the ac is turned on. Despite all these things the car still blows warm air out of all vents. I assume this must be an actuator problem, but shouldnt it set off a code? Any ideas or input would be appriciated...
On my work car (a honda) the low pressure line gets cold in just a minute or so. On my corvette it seems like the low pressure line is hot, but I can't tell if it's just from the headers. Does everyone elses get cold to the touch? I guess maybe even though the compressor is turning it may be messed up.
If the low side lines aren't getting cold then you do have either a orifice tube problem are the compressor isn't pumping freon. I had a similar problem recently and learned alot about our A/C systems.
With the A/C on reach back and see if the drier is getting cold because it should be along with the low side line.

I've had that problem...have you tried to set the heat to 90, then back down to 60? Something could be stuck...I managed to fix it by cycling it several times to the extremes. Remember, AC also includes humidity control, not just temperature...could be a factor...just keep playing with for a while.
The drier nor the low side line is getting cold. The compressor is definitly engaging fully not just cycling. I'll try running it up the temp scale and back down... Thanks for the insight fella's keep the idea's coming.
I ran it up and down the scale a bunch of times..... still no luck. I had my son watch the compressor as I turned the ac on and off and it kicks on and off perfectly. As far as the orifice tube goes, where is it located. I assume it has a plastic insert or something...
The orifice tube is located just under the battery box . You didn't say what year you have but when I started having problems the orifice was the first thing I checked. Mine showed signs of the compressor eating itself and was plugged pretty bad..
Is the passenger side at least a little cooler? My low side was showing 30 with warm air and I just got a can of r134 & pumped a few psi till it hit 36 psi and thats 6 months ago. It took me only like 10 minutes. Still blowing cold. sounds simple but worked for me.
If your low side is at 30-35 and high at 290 it should be cooling. Feel your drier and see if it is cold. I would say your blend door ( hot and cold) is in the hot position. Make sure your radiator fan is on high and the condensor is clear of obstructions. I would guess that those two items are ok though because you would have higher high side pressures if so.
I bought a new set of gauges after noticing the high side needle was on 290 when it was unhooked... Checked with new set, low side still about 30-32, and the high side was about 110. I charged it till I had about 35 low side and 280-290 high side and it seems to have fixed it. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
