Ok I am torn on what to do here .So I figure what better place to get help other than my forum buddies!!! So here goes.....
Lets say you had the money to buy your choice of these 3 cars...
1. C5 vert or coupe as a daily driver
2.C6 as a daily driver
3.C2 vert
which would you get? Here is why I am torn...
I have a C5 coupe modded to the max with sick hp already which I love the C5's and figure i could get in a nice 1 for under 20k but!
the C6 is really nice as well and would make a great daily driver and can get in 1 for about 25 to 30k which the only thing is the value will eventually drop on it...
on the other end of the spectrum the C2 vert is a awesome car and thats what got me loving vettes in the 1st place when my parents owned several of the mid 60s vettes.they hold thier value well but dont really want it as a daily driver and I do just so happen to have a honda prelude as a daily driver
Since you already have a C5 set up the way you want it, I would go with a nice C6. Paddle shift auto for a DD especially if you have to deal with a lot of traffic for the commute.
I vote for the C6 as a DD. C2's are awesome cars, but I wouldn't use one as a DD.
I have my honda as a daily driver but also going to buy a chevy truck as maybe a daily driver so when posting this post it wasnt which is best as a daily driver its if you had the cash to buy any of the 3 which would you get?
I gave the reasons to why I was thinking of each car but i dont need a vette as a daily driver although its not a bad car to have as a DD
You said, 'if it was you'....so speaking in terms of myself, i have a daily driver and wouldn't want a vette to be one...kinda kills the joy of driving my 'good' vette if i had the same vehicle to drive everyday. W/that being said, the c5/c6 isn't really all THAT different unless your talking about a z06/zr1/grandsport and judging by your price point on a c6, your probably looking at a regular/z51 version. So my choice would be a c2 vert. Timeless body style and a vehicle that will appreciate in value even more whereas the others will only depreciate from this point forward. Not that value is everything when considering a car (its the joy it brings to the driver as well), but its just a classic vehicle that i bet the majority of owners here would love to get if had the ability.

My C5 M6 coupe is my current DD although I wouldn't minde driving my wife's C6 A6. Bumper to bumper traffic just sucks with the manual. On the C6 A6 I'd just leave it in drive/sport and crawl along with the rest of the traffic.
If you have the honda as the daily driver I would go with the C2. Values will be increasing. Can always get into a C6 later (and maybe waiting gets you a Grand Sport or Z06 which in my opinion looks much better with the wider body panels)
You already have the modded C5 for the performance on nice days.
There's a '66 triple black vert on ebay with a 427 and rims already on it. It's very sweet and almost already out of my price range, there are quite a few 327's on there too. But I'm really in love with this one, PM me your email and I'll send it over to you. You and I are on the same plane of thinking again, I'm leaning more towards the older models. I can always get a new one, but not a really good classic! L8R ZFLASH
