Replacing TI Exhaust Tips
The previous owner of the car had the exhaust tips painted black, and the paint is beginning to come off. My plan is to get the rest of the paint off and bring them back to chrome, however I am afraid the reason they are painted is they were damaged in some way.
So, in the event they are damaged, what are my options for replacing them, if any at all?

Don't quote me but I do believe the TI's are part of the muffler and the tips are flashed dipped. I had the same problem with my TI's I bought. What I ended up doing was trying to remove the paint and mine were pretty much trashed so I used some 600 grit sand paper and wet sanded the tips. They now look like a brushed aluminum and I personally like it. I would have like to have brought them back to shinny but this worked out for me and I now that there done I like them.
