Default Tips/info needed: 2001 Z06 engine replacement

I had someone have their 2001 Z06 towed into my shop today after a very bad storm. We had a good amount of flooding, and they drove through a deeper puddle than they thought, and the engine took a lot of water in through the air filter housing and into the intake. The motor instantly shut down. I pulled all plugs so that I could ensure the motor was not hydrostatically locked up, which it was not. It turns out the motor is seized up somewhere and will not rotate at all even with all the plugs removed, and after manually opening the throttle body, alot of water flowed back out. I have already determined that the motor is no good, and will need to be replaced. I have never worked on a vette newer than a C-4. Is there anything I should know or pay special attention to when pulling the old motor and switching to a replacement motor? I am interested in all input so this engine replacement can go as smooth as possible. Also anyone that has pulled their motor and replaced it, I am interested to know step by step instructions on the engine removal and installation if possible. Thanks in advance guys.

IMHO, the easiest way to remove the engine is through the bottom. Put the car in the air and remove the tunnel plate, exhaust system and the entire front cradle with the engine attached. Be sure to support the torque tube - I just use a small piece of angled aluminum and bolt it between the frame supports up front.
Some guys have pulled the engine from the top, but it's a real nightmare!
Good luck!
