Default climate control display

I bought a 1998 and the climate contol display does not work.
Do you think I should replace it with a new one or purchase a
rebuilt unit? I've also have seen some used ones for sale on
ebay. I would appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

What do you mean by does not work? Is it just the lum display, lights dont work, or you are getting nothing to come on, or the controls don't work?
If it is all of the above could be fuze, if its the lum display (which is common) and you have some minor solder experience there is an easy resolder of some chip leads and all works. If thats the case do a search of threads discussing how to fix> Personnally, if it is just the lum display fix it youself and save a few hundred dollars (at min).

Yea, if you expand a bit on exactly what problems you are experiencing perhaps some good recommendations can be made to help you out.

Since your title says "climate control display", I'm going to assume (Oh...Oh...) that the system is actually working, and you just need to fix the dim display. Which is a common problem, BTW.

Check out this link. It has all the information you need to fix this yourself, and save a good deal of money...

I have had to fix a couple on a couple of C5s I have owned over time, and it always seems that some of the damn push button lights quit working after you open the box up.
Nothing a quick trip to Radio Shack can't fix though.
