Cool story,,and have to give him props for his success story!! Seems though he has lost his perspective a bit though. Fun Fest started out as a free event,,and was so for many years. It was called a customer appreciation party,and you got 2 tee shirts a goody bag and even 2 tickets for a free lunch. Later the lunch tickets were dropped in favor of a free concert. NOW he charges his friends a minimum of $25 for ONE shirt, and pay $10 a head for a dinner. The "feel" of the event has changed,,and not for the better. I do still go,,but not nearly for as long a day or days as I used to in the past. It used to feel like a Corvette melting pot,,all were welcomed, wealthy to blue collar. Now with his $200+ dinner with Mike,,extra cost add on events,,just has changed the whole atmosphere,,like he's only interest is in the big buck crowd. Kinda like we are all his friends,,,as long as you can afford to be one of them. He HAS built a fabulous empire,,but seems to have lost touch with his roots.
