Your opinions on these two. Escort 8500 or the Beltronics RX65. I believe they are very close in comparison however just wondering if anyone has any feedback on one or the other or both. thanks

I've had the Beltronics RX65 for years. I liked it so much that I bought another for my Jeep too. Still have the Bel RX65 in the Jeep, but now have the RX75 Pro built in the Vette. I liked the bel RX65 because of the digital voice and the beep. The voice would let me know what radar was picked up. I never even look at the display. It has worked very well for me over the years. My friend has the Escort 8500 and he likes that one too. They are pretty much the same unit except the RX65 has the digital voice alert. Can't go wrong with either unit. Everybody seems to have their own preferences in Radar Detectors . . . I have had good luck with the Bel RX65. Been using Beltronics Radar Detectors for 30+ years.

I have two Escort 8500s and love them. Best detector I've ever owned.

I had the 8500 and it was okay until stolen out my truck. I have the Valentine 1 now and love the arrows that show where they are.

Big time Escort fan. Functionallity may be similar but the design of the Escort is much better IMHO.

Yep, Valentine 1. I've got a Escort 9500 also but use the Valentine 1 the most.

Escort 8500 here.

Great detector if you're on a budget. They can be had for ~$100 all over ebay.

I have three Escort 8500X50's, two Red, and one Blue. All of them have saved me numerous times. Well worth my money.

Love the escort 8500, thats what I have. Hardly any false alarms, very accurate with plenty of early warning distance. Paid for itself 100x over!

I only wish I could choose..Radar Detectors are outlawed here in Virginia... They even have detectors that detect Radar Detectors...If caught you get a hefty fine and your equipment impounded.....Big Brother at it's best
