I have read a lot of customer dissatisfaction with Eckler’s and I will admit I have not ordered from them in some time, but I took the chance and place a small order today. I just received an e-mail that the order was processed and shipped today. So maybe they are turning things around.

I just placed my first order with them last week. I ordered 5 items and only 3 of them showed up in the box. When I called Ecklers they told me that the other two orders were back stocked and I wouldn't be receiving them for another week... It would have been nice of them to alert me to this at some point

I have had slow delivery with most of the corvette vendors. I have had the same experience with no notification when they back order. TSP is the latest with a 3 week delivery and I had to call and email to find out when I would get my DeWitts radiator. Which I should have tomorrow, according to UPS.

I have had the same experience with Ecklers. I usually order from Corvette Central, but I'll always call them first to see if they have the items in stock. If they do I will then place the order. It seems like there is a 2-3 day lag before they ship though.

I recently ordered about $8000 worth of parts from a forum vendor. Their web site indicated all items were in stock and would ship within 1-3 days. After I placed the order, I was informed that they weren't in stock and it would be several weeks (4-5 weeks for one item) before they shipped. I've always had great customer service from this particular vendor, but it irritated me that they weren't more up front and that the information on their web site is misleading.
I've bought from Ecklers many times over the last 20 years, Never had a single problem, I've always had excellent service from them. Once I had a shipment broke up into different shipping dates because some items weren't on the shelves at that exact moment, but hay, They paid for the shipping costs.
But I have to say that of most . . . vendors Ecklers is pretty much in the center on shipping. But no matter who you buy from, the shipping cost it out of any reasonable cost expectations. I've bought items that it cost a buck more to ship the was the purchase price. . . Corvette Tax !
For those who have owned businesses and managed businesses you know that customer service and more importantly the most recent customer service experience with a customer is critical. Remember that we are all human and not perfect and perhaps that person had a bad day. I know of no company that is error free or perfect in service. I have ordered a few things from Ecklers and never had a problem. A trend in poor service is a management issue and if not addressed will take care of itself! The company will no longer be in business.
I see stuff like this as a sign of the economy. Vendors are carrying less inventory, and ordering directly from the manufacturer when they have a customer order in hand--thus reducing "cost of carry" in terms of inventory expense, but INCREASING delivery time to the end user. In many cases when I buy parts, I will contact the manufacturer directly. Many are willing to price match the "vendors" and ship direct. Increases their profit. Right now everyone is hungry because of reduced consumer spending. My $.02.
ive ordered a few times from ecklers with a few problems. ordered tiger shark front and rear end pieces. they get them from starcraft, starcraft doesnt include the tailight with back up lense in it but on ecklers website it said it was included so when shipped direct from starcraft they wasnt with it ,ecklers made it right and shipped them no charge. also bought corsa tiger shark exhaust they had advertised at $999.00 and all other websites had at $1399.00,found out corsa had just raised price due to material costs but even after ecklers found out about the price change they sold me them for $999.00 and i know they didnt have them in stock because they were also shipped direct from corsa. so id say they are a pretty honest company to deal with.
The problem I found with Ecklers is when ordering online, there is no up to date inventory status on the item you are ordering. You place the order thinking that if the order went through then everything is OK, only to get an email 2-3 days later that the item(s) are out of stock. Even if you call and speak to someone the screen they are looking at is not up to date either. They know if they have the item when they actually pick the item to ship, at least thats what I could gather speaking to customer service. In this day and age of internet commerce I'm suprised that they don't have a better system in place for their online storefront. When I place an order I want to know then and there if I'm going to get it or not.
My only problem with Ecklers is that when they drop-ship (which I don't much care for to start with), most times there is no more communication on the shipment. I like to have a tracking number, first to know it's actually been shipped, second is that I have a life and like to know when it will arrive so I can be home.

First off I am the one that started this thread and I ordered yesterday and received the shipment about an hour ago. Of course I live in Florida so next day delievery is common with Echlet's.
As for the drop shipment, I have ordered items from other vendors that were drop shipment, and I normal only get a tracking number on items coming directly from the vendor not the supplier that is sending the drop shipment.

that has been both my experience and the procedure i use. i got the "eckler's" treatment from them once about 8 months ago and got 1 of 3 things ordered (even though they showed as in stock when the order was placed) and it took forever (about 3 weeks) to get the completed order. if i remember correctly, i gave up on one of the items and eventually went elsewhere to get it. when i called to check on the "back ordered" stuff, i was promptly told by the person i was talking to that they couldn't account for whatever someone else had told me, the items were out and they were dependent upon their suppliers for the delivery schedule. their estimated deliver date was just a calculated guess. personally, while i would order from ecklers even if they were the last one to have the part i needed in stock, it seems that the economy has caused suppliers to pare down their inventory (makes good business sense), so calling to insure something is actually in stock before or while placing an order is prudent.
