Got Corsa? (or not.)

Sorry you are so narrow minded to think that the Corsa system is not a credible upgrade and that all those people here are just uninformed and are stupid for spending 1200 dollars with no gain or worth...of course you are entitled to your opinion. The poll is bogus??? Yeah sure... its a relative poll meaning.. the people here on this forum vote here in a Yes or no pole .. and although it may not be perfect it shoes that the Corsa system is the choice of the people who post on this forum... these are people that would choose another exhaust system..What is bogus is your analytical skills.

o hell yea, I have the Cosa pace, great at highway cruising , and I have a nice Englandgreen cam, and cut outs. I absolutly love the cut outs. Its funny to watch windows roll down at the stops, and it fun to hit the back roads with the top off and listen to that Necessary Evil do its singing! at 170 in 4th( I think I was still in 4th) on a closed road with top off and cut outs wide open it will for sure put a smile on your face!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I now have GHL Bullets and love them. I like the Quad 4" tips better than the 3.5" Corsa tips. Deeper sound than the Corsa Touring. Deep Roar at WOT for sure! Such sweet sound ! I don't hear any resonance with them either.... A BIG plus for me.
I got the exhaust for $800 out the door. With that said.... I have heard the Corsa Sport and they sound great. I don't think I have heard the Corsa Extreme before, but I'll bet they sound great too. Corsa is the only "GM Licensed" exhausts made for the C5. There is tons of engineering behind them, and that's why they don't drone, and that's why they are big money too.
In my opinion, the only downside to the Corsa's is that they are big money compared to the GHL's I have now. A new Corsa is going to run $1200-$1300.
I don't get drone on my GHL Bullets and they have a nice deep tone. I can't ask for anything more.

In my opinion, most people who want more "sound" from their Z will look at mufflers first, because that's the part that affects the sound of the car, right?
These folks think they'll be happy with the car the way it is if it has more growl to it, so they replace the mufflers after posting one of those all-too-common "which exhaust sounds best" threads. Now the car is louder, but still has that "motorboat" idle and it just doesn't seem to scream at high RPM like some of the cars on Utub do. So they start more intense research and decide they need to install an X-pipe, maybe even LT headers. Now the car sounds really good. Owner is happy.
Until about a year later. Now they're bored. What about more power like all those guys on the forums who are having so much fun?
Now they look into heads/cam. OOOH, those big exhaust lobes sound so good banging and popping away at idle… makes the car seem like a real hot rod! YESSS! I WANT THAT! Down goes the cash, up goes the power, and up goes the sound. WAY up. The videos are posted, the forum posts are made, the neighbour's kid's jaws are agape and the birds move away. I am a BADASS.
Three months later they realise they haven't turned the radio on since getting their car back from the shop, having been happily existing in a haze of CO2 and tire smoke. Wait a minute… they've really got to crank the **** to even hear the radio, and checking a traffic report is painful. Their neighbours hate being woken up every time they come in late at night or leave early morning, and the wife has all but refused to ride in "that" car again.
"Hmm… I wonder if I can get a used set of Ti's off someone on the forum?"
The Ti's go back on the car and the owner realises how fantastic that exhaust system is after all. Great flow, ultra light weight, properly sized tips that sit relative to the body WHERE TIPS SHOULD SIT, no drone, liveable yet still bark when the time is right, and a beautiful 2k RPM burble when just shifting around town. And best of all, the car sounds like it makes the power it does, not some bad imitation of a 9 second strip terror.
Perfect.
The problem with Corvette owners telling other Corvette owners about what they should do with their car's exhaust is that everybody uses their cars in different ways. There's the one who locks it in the garage and waxes it weekly (even if it hasn't been driven) and will only pull it out on the most perfect of days to blow off a little steam then lock it right back up again after another thorough wash/wax. Then there's the owner who has ONE car to drive ALL the time… to work, grocery shopping, road trips with the Significant Other, etc., etc.
IMO, the key is eliminating DRONE, and the OEM Ti system does that very well. For the guy who wants to have his cake and eat it too, the Ti is hard to beat on a modified car. The Corsa and PRT systems come in behind the Ti, and thankfully come in different flavours from mild to wild while still keeping drone in check.
For the guy who just wants to kick the world in the pants and make his own ears bleed, well, there's lots of huge cams and insufficient "mufflers" out there to choose from. Heck, why not just run a couple of pipes through the hood and call it a day?
It's probably easy to tell that I drive my car every day.
It's an '02Z with LG Pros w/cats, stock Ti's and an LPE GT11 camshaft. The cam is pretty small by big cam standards, but the increased exhaust lobe has noticeably woken up the exhaust sound of this engine. The Ti's sound great at idle, burbling around town, and high RPM WOT. My $.04FWIW, I used to have the Corsa Ti system, the one with four straight through "resonators" and two individual tips. It sounded pretty good, didn't drone at cruise, and was very light weight. Where it DID drone, though, was at idle… sounded kinda funny and not like a high performance V8 should. I had to sell this system as it would not work with LT headers, and that's when the magic happened with the LG's and stock Ti's.
All of this is purely my opinion. Everyone has at least one, and I was bored on my lunch break.
