Default Convertible Seat Hoops

Hi Guys
I just wanted to publicly thank Ryan Martin for giving me a great deal on some Convertible chrome hoops and show you the install. If Ryan ever has anything he wants to sell, everyone should know what a standup guy he is and don't worry about getting what he sold you. Not only did he give me a good deal but he put them right in the mail, Thank You. Here's a picture. I think they really add something to the car. Already got two positive comments on them. Even my wife liked them till I told her how much they were. Even though I got them at a good price, she thought it was a waste of money. I should have known better Never tell the truth about the cost of frills for Vette. I'm not even going to tell her about the catback I got They were kind of a pain to put in but after I pulled the waterfall it went pretty smooth. Here they are Thanks again Ryan.

Well there's your problem! You don't have to pull the waterfall to install a catback!

There are three prices. The one you tell tell the wife you paid, the price you actually paid, and the price you pay when she finds out what you really paid.

Congrats! You will probably receive many more compliments in the future regarding your seat hoops. I have received many over the years.

BTW - Never tell the wife the cost of mods. However, in fairness to my wife, she doesn't ask me about my Corvette mods and other hobbies, and I don't ask her about the cost of her spa and mani/pedis.

I don't get hoop thing-never saw one that didn't make me . What's the point anyway? Doubt they would help much in a rollover.

Purely cosmetic and just like other cosmetic mods, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

...or whoever pays for it!

I agree. It adds a nice touch of chrome in the mid section.

I love mine and like others it just adds a little to the total package. If you don't like it, don't slam it, move on to a thread you support.

It shouldn't hit the gas tank. The filler hose is behind the driver though, that you CAN hit

...or the carbon cannister. Hit that and you will throw codes and smell gas fumes after every fill-up.

I was wondering why I had a fuel smell in the car and gas was leaking all over the floor. No, they come with epoxy to glue them in. That's what I did for now but when I get ambitous I'll pull the tank and bolt them in. I didn't buy them for safety, I just think they're purrdy

Honestly, I'm not sure...

I used self-tapping scews as well as the supplied epoxy, however still might have hit the cannister. The "good news" is that the gas tank cross-over pipe recall came out a few months after I completed this mod and GM paid for the new cannister as well as the cross over pipe that was recalled. They never even questioned the seat hoops. I noticed the smell after fill ups about 6 weeks after I installed the hoops and also started throwing codes.
