Default Air dam/side pieces, OEM or aftermarket?

So when my c5 was in its wreck the radiator support/crash bar got mangled, and the air dam as well as the two covers for each side were mangled as well.

I'm seeing some aftermarket pieces for around 75, though they look a good deal different than the factory pieces in terms of mounting and how they connect to one another.

Curious if anyone has run one of these and how well it fit/worked?

When you consider the air dams, while providing cooler air to the radiator are also considered sacrificial parts. I bought the cheaper generic one on my C6

Fair enough. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't about to buy something that was going to fall apart after one drive

There is no difference.

But do add the reinforcement plates it will help them live longer.

I think I would want replacements that mount and look similar to the OEM parts. But as long as they do that, aftermarket ones that are usually cheaper are just fine.

I have a aftermarket set — from Zip as I recall. While I am no NCRS judge, I can’t tell a difference, and neither does my temperature gage.
