The 17th Anual Labor Day Weekend Corvette Show at the National Corvette Museum was a waste!
I went on a Saturday like I had for the last 17 years!
It was a farce!!!!!!!!!!! They ruined the show by making it Wed-Sat!!!
Car Show was on a Thursday!!! What a bunch of crap.
There wasnt 100 cars there on Sat!!!
Everyone ought to bitch at the NCM people running these shows. If it is a Labor Day Weekend Show, make it for the full weekend so people like me who work for a living Monday thru Friday can go. At least make the Corvette car show on Saturday!!!
Have you shared any of these thoughts with the folks at the NCM? You should send a note to the events director Roc Linkov (roc@corvettemuseum.org) or his assitant Karen Renfrow (Karen@corvettemuseum.org).
Had you not read the agenda to know that the car show had been scheduled for Thursday?
The car show is a "celebrity choice" car show and because of the addition of the inaugurial Baltimore Grand Prix American Lemans Series race on Saturday, many of the celebrities from GM needed to leave Friday to be at the race on Saturday, which is also why the Hall of Fame induction ceremony was on Thursday night because Ron Fellows was being inducted but needed to leave to get to Baltimore. You seem most upset about the show but unfortunately the "show" is only one event from an entire weekend celebration. The weekend is about celebrating the Anniversary of the museum.
Since you went last year you would then realize that the car show was on Friday last year and that this event has been a Wednesday through Saturday event for at least the last four years.
As far as there only being 100 cars there on Saturday, there were actually three different road tours out for the day on Saturday so many of the event attendees were on these trips.
There were over 500 people pre-registered for this event and almost all of them arrived. This represents a 10% increase over last year.
The agenda is always on line more than 5 months in advance of the event on the National Corvette Museum website.
And what about when we used to go to Beech Bend and race our Corvettes? What happened to real Corvette enthusiasts? Oh, I forgot, you did have the Wine and Cheese Tour....sad.
I wonder how many were there on Wednesday or Thursday?
Wednesday is only from noon on so folks arriving early can pick up their registration packets. Thursday had full parking lots with lots of metal cars in the back.
And what about when we used to go to Beech Bend and race our Corvettes? What happened to real Corvette enthusiasts? Oh, I forgot, you did have the Wine and Cheese Tour....sad.
Sad that all you have left now is to ridicule the folks that did attend and enjoyed themselves.
And the facts are, yes I am disappointed and everyone at the NCM wants to hear from other people if they want changes. Well this forum is for ALL enthusiast to express their opinion.
So you are criticising me for asking for opinions and stating what I believe should change?
The NCM is for all Corvette enthusiasts!!!
i am not "ridiculing" anyone anymore than you are of me.
I have the right to say my opinion and ask others what they think, just as you and the NCM can defend your opinion!
I expressed my concern back then, and I still went down on Saturday, did not see much of a Corvette show, and I am expressing that opinion now.
And what about when we used to go to Beech Bend and race our Corvettes? What happened to real Corvette enthusiasts? Oh, I forgot, you did have the Wine and Cheese Tour....sad.
Sorry the show didn't work for you. Can you come back this weekend? Holley LS fest at Beech Bend this weekend. Not all Corvettes but plenty of testosterone anyway. I'll be there with my son on Saturday for sure.
I was there at that Beech Bend Event last year too. I go to many events around the Midwest. The LS event is cool with enthusiast who really like to use the cars like they were meant to be used. Oh, by the way there was 5 Corvettes that I saw on Saturday at the NCM (Show?) that were older than 1980....wow. My hats off to them.
Not trying to be a smart A** but if I was planning on making the trip to Bowling Green for an event, I would have checked the Event Schedule listed on the NCM web site and planned accordingly. Sorry that you missed the show and thought it was on Saturday, but it was clear in the event schedule.
I DID CHECK IT. I knew what the schedule was. I went anyway. I just thought there still might be a lot of people with Corvettes to look at too. There wasn't.
No vendors in the outside lot, a few accessory vendors inside, and a few Corvettes outside.
Hell, there were more metal cars in the front parking lot than Corvettes. lol
