Well Baxsom, from what you've described, your problem could either be with the BLSHT system of the car or blinker fluid.....maybe both.
I would look in the fuse box first. Pour some blinker fluid in there first and stand back....you may want to sport some safety glasses.
Or put your key fob in a cup of vinegar for about three days and then forget where you put your car.
