I've had problems with my corvette's clutch master cylinder and associated slave cylinder. Fluid get's all goobered up with metal shavings, then the clutch won't engage and disengage properly.
Other than that...for the money...the C5 Z06 is a great car.
find a good local shop and pay for a through used car inspection. It is well worth the money. I do them on a regular basis and quite often find serious reasons to avoid buying the vehicle. Unfortunately alot of folks bring in the car for inspection after buying it?
Clutch slave cylinder leakage....look around the bottom of the bell housing for seepage.
I couldn't agree more with this posting. I just purchased my 2003 z06 with 37k miles on it. Car is an absolute blast, but...I am right now (after 4 months of ownership and only maybe 1000 miles of driving) spending just at $3000.00 for a new clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder and clutch. I saw slight leakage on the ground last Friday night, and then next thing I know the very next morning I have a tow truck taking my vette in for major surgery.
