Is the casting number 243 all I'm looking for to make sure the heads I'm buying are from a Z06 or is there something else I need to look for. Guy says they're from a Z06 but nothing to prove or dis-prove it.
Thanks
Dave
It amazes me how I've seen similar questions like this being asked by members with very early join dates. This site really is "untech" oriented. No offense really, just an observation.
Anyways, basically yes the casting number 243 will be what your looking for, as far as actual LS6 Z06 heads go, they also will have the lighter and more desirable sodium filled valves.
Remember the LS2's also came with 243's but with out the lighter valves.
799 heads are also equvilant to 243's.

243 are Z heads, There is another number heads that are also Z heads, I can't remember the number, Maybe 799, They changed the casting number when the heads were carried over to other engines, but the 799 and 243 castings are one in the sameI believe, Also some had sodium valves.
