Bad luck, some years ago had a hobby farm and along with it comes mice. I have alot of experience with dealing with mice issues. In your case you have done all you can and what happens to dead mice is they simply dry up TOTALLY in a short time and NOTHING is left except some hair. I am betting that with just a little smell that can be dealt with air freshners you dont have anymore worries. Just be happy no damage due to chewing was done. Good luck, Rob

I had a mouse in my truck someplace so I set a trap inside for him, he got caught but still managed to wiggle up inside the dash somewhere I could not find him or the trap!
Well he obviously died and the stench was terrible, I kept spraying lysol and fabreeze all over the place and inside all the air ducts and vents, and even with this, the smell kept coming back, I kept it up and after nearly a year, the smell is finally completely gone, but that was disgusting I hated driving the truck at all!
I couldn't even consider selling the truck to anyone like that, so I was stuck with it.
I now have at least twenty traps in my garage, and I check them every week, also I sealed up every tiny crack or opening I could find, and put two electronic mouse killers in the shop too, and I check them every week.
They electrocute the mice and dump them into a hopper you just empty, very cool.
Knowing what I know now, I will never leave my Vette anywhere a mouse can get near it!
If that happens, the insurance company is going to get an accidental fire claim rather than go through that again!

By the way, its been over a year now, and I have yet to catch any mice, its sealed up like a tomb, but that was such a bad experience I still check the traps every week.
A good defense is a better offense!

I've seen a number of them around, but can't put my finger on one at the moment. Some of items I recall were:

placing dryer sheets or slivers of Irish Spring soap inside the car. Supposedly they don't like the smell. I dunno, but its worth a shot I guess. And come springtime your ride will at least smell good.

When I store my vette for the winter, I put this around all four tires, one on the exhaust plate, one on the firewall facing the engine and one in the vents.... It works for me....

Just thought of this, if you put hair around your plants it keeps the deer, rabbits and other things away so maybe it would keep the mice away over winter storage. Just a thought.
