Default Just picked up my first C5Z....

02 Z06, 25k miles.....

I bought this car because it belonged to my best friend (friends for 20 yrs) and he recently passed away....He had been real sick with cystic fibrosis and could never enjoy the car after he built it. I am keeping it going for him! I bought it from his wife to help her out financially and get me a good back up daily driver/cruiser/road trip car... My buddy had over $50k in it and I got it for $25k so....pretty decent deal I thought....

I cleaned the crap out of this thing this weekend....

Please excuse the dirty mat....I had forgotten to clean it until after I took the pic....

Stock LS6 engine, LG pro long tubes, 3" x pipe, stock Ti muffs, A&A Procharger, front mount intercooler...10 psi boost, ECS alky control methanol kit, Spec 3+ clutch (I call it chatter box because this clutch chatters like ****....I hate it), DTE Stg 2 rear end w/hardened output shaft.

It needs a few things here and there....I just got the belt slipping problem resolved (I think), put new tires on it and basic maintenance stuff. I have a problem with the Kenne Bell Boost a pump not working consistantly and the meth pump is toast.....So I have some stuff to do to get it 100% but.......its all there. The car is fun as hell to drive....like driving a big go kart that hauls *** and gets 20+ mpg...

OH....it also came with a home made "drag pack" with brand new tires all the way around.... We'll see if this turd will run 10s....hopefully without blowing its wad all over the track.

Great car! And you got the best color!

I am sure your friend is looking at you from above, happy that you will be able to enjoy the car he did not...

Very nice! I would at least drop it on the stock bolts, mine was the same and its one of the first things I did and love it. Don't care for Chrome wheels on Sports Cars, but it ain't mine. Enjoy!!!

Nice! I know your buddy is up there watching you enjoy his baby! I am sorry for your loss, but at least you have a part of him to keep the memories alive and well.

Thanks fellas! I love it so far.

Yes I wanted to pay her a fair price for the car, I wanted her to get as much as she could for it...but I also didnt want to spend TOO much for a back up toy so.... I thought $25k was a good compromise....seeing as how KBB has them at $22-23k......she got a couple grand extra for it and I got a car with a TON of extras and all labor already performed.

Now I just need to dial a few things in. I spent this weekend trying to diagnose the meth system and boost a pump, both MAY have issues... I ordered a wideband for it so I can keep tabs on it. Hopefully I will get everything working and get it on a dyno soon to see what its still making.

Drag racing is a waste of a good Z06 man...take it to the road course.

It most certainly is not! That's the great thing about these cars. They can be at the dragstripone weekend, the road course the next, and do a bit of autocross in between. This is while visiting a car shown or two in the middle of all that.

Nothing wrong with hitting the dragstrip.
