Default HELP!! HVAC Vacuum Lines!

So....after hours of searching and finding a remedy on this wonderful forum, I finally had some time to tear my car apart looking to see if my vacuum lines were damaged that control the HVAC doors. Well, not to my surprise, as soon as removed the battery I could see the line that goes through the firewall was broken. After working from the inside to free the hose I decided to leave it running through the firewall so I can snake the new through with the old. So, I returned to inspect all of the rest of the assembly in behind the PCM. As I am gently inspecting these lines-another one simply breaks off. This is one tied up inside another one of the taped wire clusters.

I have searched for at least an hour to buy a complete kit and cannot find one.

I was hoping to find something other than the stealership to purchase the comlete kit. As I have now taken the fender off and I now plan on replacing the entire system. This is not a fun job and I don't particularily feel like doing it twice.

If anyone knows a vendor that sells the complete package, elbows, lines, 90's etc please let me know.

If not i guess I am off to the stealership to order it.........

You can get the line @ Advance/Auto Zone, etc. Sure you can get the elbows and such. Don't know about a complete kit though. I think you can get a repair sleeve for the broken line if you have enough visible to work with. Hope that helps.

I agree, You should be able to get vac hose and such parts at a good pars store.
In most cases this is caused from a battery that has leaked in the past, Any signs of corrosion from battery acid?

Here is a good write-up - you can get any vacuum fittings at a local auto store!

Thanks,matt

If you HVAC controls are working OK, then just replace the lines.

Yeah, there was some corrosion. Not a lot but neverless there was some. What is the best way to clean it without using water?

I found the broken line right away but as I worked I found more and more. That's what prompted me to replace everything.

I think you are a wise man to replace anything and everything that comes into question. This preventative maintenance insures future issues will be less.
