First semi cool day in SC and went to take the vette out, It started right up but the starter sounded like it was staying engaged and made a terrible whining sound. I shut it right down and it did it 3 more times before it would start normal. Am I looking at a new starter? and if so what is a dealer going to charge me.

If you have some way to get the car up in the air,,, a starter swap is not a big deal even for me. Do a search on C5 Tech for a how to thread...there are several. A dealer will break it off in you. In OKC there is a company that rents lift time and tools pretty cheap. Might be a similar company in your area.
