I think that it has enough volume for a hockey bag, the only issue might be height, so you might have to go to one of the kind where stuff can be spread around loosely inside the bag so it is spread out and not too tall.

I have used the tire repair kit, I was sceptical about it too, but it worked great I had a slice about a 1/2 wide I ran over glass. I drove home parked it and it held for days (I wasn't driving it) untill I got new tires, mine were shot. You can get it patched from the inside if you have life left on them.
