Default Z16 Stripes

Anyone know if the OEM Z16 Stripes are still available? I know there are reproductions out there, but haven't been able to locate the originals.
Thanks!

I guess I would try Gene Culley here on the Forum. However, GM "might" require a Z16 number in order to prevent people from building new "replica" Z16s from non-CE models.

Good luck finding them. A couple of years ago someone here posted the GM part numbers and current prices. The three pieces were very close to $1,000 +/-.

For that money, it might be easier to find a talented air brush artist. The member here (Mike) who sells stripe kits look very close, but his do not duplicate the carbon fiber between the red/silver.

Here's some old classifieds ads...

Thanks. I definitely want the OEM stripes. Don't have a need for them right now, but would like to keep a set on hand for the future.

Although pricey, they are still available to order from your local GM dealer.

I bought a set for the hood around $325 and roof $250. I was told the trunk is no longer available.

Someone else said the same thing. But I'm looking for complete set.

Would you happen to have the part numbers for the roof and hood stripes?

Now I'm told that if my plan is to keep them for the future (which it is), they will dry out!

That is correct. A guy on Z16.ORG ran into that problem.
That's exactly why I haven't purchased a set.

which means the ones that are actually on the car are drying out as we speak!
Do you know how long it takes if you store them??

I don't know how long it takes for them to go bad, while in storage. The ones on my car still look like the day they were put on. I'm confident that I won't need new ones in my lifetime, unless there's an accident.

I'd wager if you kept the expensive new spare set in a cool/dry place, away from the suns UV and heat, they'll last for a long time.

As to the oem stripes on my car, I apply ZAINO to them when I do the car. 303 PROTECTANT would probably also work, but it would be difficult not getting it on the paint.

I don't know if ZAINO helps preserve them or not, but I see no deterioration of them at this point.

I priced them out today and even with the forum discount I believe they were around $800? One of them is discontinued by GM but I can still get it for a little while.
