Think I have a real money pit here. Can't even do all the cosmetic things I want to do without something breaking. Replaced all the belts, pulleys, waterpump, tensioner and still squeeling like a pig. Shop is thinking that the Procharger may be misaligned. WTH?
Couple of times the car would not shift out of first. Took it in yesterday and they pulled all the codes. 2 were transmission related,2 were fuel and the rest were bogus. He cleared all the codes. Tells me that they deal with RPM for transmission swaps. Could have a built tranny now but really scared to dump the money in it and still have problems. Looks like this is what I get for buying a blown Vette with 69,000 miles. Just so bummed because I really like this car but DANG
I don't know if this is any concellation but I also have a blown vette and at a mere 57K miles on the clock, I am now due for a rebuilt tranny because my 1st synchro is toast.

If it was just a stock tranny that went bad, I think you will have much better luck with a heavy duty RPM unit. I'd bet someone that has an RPM unit in their car will chime in and give you some good feedback.
Yeah, just nervous is all. Sure the new unit would be a huge improvement. Worried about the fuel part and belts squeeling still. The shop that I have taken the vette to, do not have the laser aligning tool for the charger. Just don't know.
I don't have a blower so I have no first hand knowledge. If I did have a blower I would be doing a lot of research with the manufacturer and well known established shops that know their business. It's not rocket science but since you bought used it's hard to know what the problem could be. Don't just keep throwing money at it till you know what's wrong.

I have an RPM Built Level IV - A4. I can tell you that if you do need a new tranny don't think about any one other than RPM! Great folks to deal with.
My last vette was supercharged at 107k miles with the original clutch. I sold her with 134k miles to buy my FRC. Some cars seem to hold up better than others...

I did not buy a RPM tranny. I bought a FLT(Finish Line Transmission)
when my 20k tranny went up in smoke. FLT is a well known company
in the Midwest. Check LS-1 Tech for more info. RPM is one of a few
topnotch companies. I have bought products from RPM and they are
a good company, and they recommended FLT if I didn't chose them.
Do your homework and tranny problems will not be a problem with a
blower, good luck.
Thanks for all the help fellas. Jamisons Custom Corvette has been in business for ever and do great work. He would be sending RPM all my goodies. Transmission and differential. He told me today that after the tranny/torque converter that my stock 273 gears would not last. So...need new differential too. to handle new power. I am so pissed! I took it in the shorts with this one. I will try and get the codes from him tomorrow. Looking at 6K to do all this work and does not even include the tune. ....its a auto too.
Yeah...he called Vortec for troubleshooting. When they sent the tensioner for the charger they did not send all parts. What ever it is will push the charger out a bit, eliminating the squeeling pig under my hood. I get the pay to play thing too. Just did not think I would be spending 6 grand on repairs for a car the books out at 14 I wanted a project me and my 3 year old son could have and enjoy together. Just bummed. Thanks again

same here. everyone knows that the A4 is the weak link in the power train. As soon as you do any serious mods or get anywhere near 400rwhp your trani is living on borrowed time.Keep tyhe car and talk to RPM.
