Default Computer problems

I know this really isn't Corvette related but it's how I get to my favorite web-site. I've been using internet explorer as my browser but every time I use it now my computer locks up. I tried everything I could think of to fix it but it still does it. I started using Google as my search engine with no problems but I haven't figured out how to put favorites on it and things like that. Does anyone else use Google or have a better search engine for me to download.
Thanks
Dave

Do you mean Google Chrome? If so just drag the icon to the left of the URL into your bookmarks bar. If you don't see it go into the top right, click on the wrench and go to options. Then there's an option to "always show bookmark bar"

First off, you are right, this is not Corvette related and should be moved to "Off Topic". If I was you in regards to your problem, most likely you've got spyware in your machine or a virus. Start with the simple first, delete all cookies from your machine by using the control panel, internet options then delete history and select most everything in there to delete. Please PM a moderator and ask that they move this thread for you to "Off Topic" therefore hopefully keeping you out of trouble with them.

I'm sorry, did not think of off topic. Please by all means, move it. Thank you for your help. At 55 I did not grow up in the computer world like you youngsters but I can tear down and rebuild a small block blind folded. Just doesn't mean much anymore in this world of computers on every little thing we own. Thanks again for the help.
