Thanks to all for the warm welcome...I'm looking forward to learning from all you knowledgeable members!

Here's a list of things I've already bought:

- Optima Red Top
- BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW's all around
- New rear emblem
- NGK TR-55 Plugs w/MSD 8.5mm wires
- K&N filter
- Column Lock relay (I've had the car one month and already had to tow it to the dealership because of Column Lock)
- New fuel filter

But I really need a black front license plate bumper filler and I'm having a hard time finding one!

Congrats on choosing the best looking C5 model.

Mine has been very reliable and not a money pit.

Been over Ebbett's Pass many times ...

I think there may be a bit of sarcasm here BUT:

I'm sure you wouldn't put A4 seats, a momo wheel, mgw shifter, borla exhaust, a k&n fipk or have built yours with your own hands. You enjoy your stock vette, and look like one of the crowd. I can't go anywhere without people talking to me about my car, and praising it. These kind of people come up once in a while, and more so when you're unique.

OP great Corvette. Make it your own, and even waive at the owners like 2slick1vette

I plan to do that to, once I get mine.
Fixed, having grown up in the era of lead sleds and glass pack flatheads, the flat paint look doesn't do it for me except on my barbeque. However that's your call. (wonder where I can get those little blue jewels hot rodders put on their tail lights?)
What I was curious about, is the care of the paint job. Is there any 'after treatment', or do you just wash/dry it and spend the rest of your time on the wheels?
btw, like your lights also.

"unique"

Instead of trying to look "unique", I went straight for heads, cam, and a blower...

First thing you do is buy a california duster for your black beauty saves washing every time you go out. Gotta luv it! Greetings from your new friend up north with a black vette too!

Congrat's on your purchase, a very nice looking C5.
Sound like your purchases are normal wear and tear items
Wait till the mod bug bites

My current project is a LS1 with a heads cam blower setup for my Full tube BRM suspension and caged 96 Z28 Camaro. I just got to finish putting it together. My Corvette is my daily driver. Close to 400 ponies is plenty for a DD

So far that is what it has been. I am going to try this out: http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...-black-plastic
Also, My wheels are powder coated, so they are just wipe off as well. Although I put a coat of wax on them today. This is a big part of why I went this direction. Its a chamois detail car. Easy maintenance for a DD. There is a method to my madness lol

Thanks R.Wilkins
For the link to the California Duster.
Ordered one immediately. Can't wait to try it out.
Sharp Hardtop you have there! I spotted those wheels before anything.
GM perfected the Corvette when they designed the C5. Only if they would have made the wheels the same size (all around). Then we could rotate.
