Default need opinion please?

miles are a little high, but the car looks ok. called the dealer, and he mentioned he picked it up at an auction, so did not know the history of the car obviously, but everything work and it drove out good.
he had to list it twice (i've been watching it) because people just don't pay after winning sometimes.
anyway...its gone for about ten grand.

just curious on some thoughts?

thanks

Since I just got one, I can predict that values of C5s will plumet like a rock off a cliff. Seems to happen everytime I buy something. I think I must have the last Harley Davidson that sold for MSRP.

High miles, wagon wheels, basic a/c and am/fm cassette, manual seats (don't see memory on driver's door) and the obligatory leather wear on the driver's seat. Dealer's description is a tad bit embellished but that's to be expected. One owner (actually two with the dealter) is good, but I'm thinking this one should go for $9K max.

If you don't live close enough to go look and drive it before the auction is up, I'd pass, 2 reasons, he bought it at auction, and he has never sold anything on the bay before. Everybody that starts on the bay has problems selling high dollar items. Lots of fraud going on selling high dollar items on the net including ebay. Be very cautious. Look at half of the bidders on the first auction, some of those didn't have any feedback either. Does the carfax show the car has been sold to a dearler?

This is good advice, any ebay buyers who are low to no feedback ratings are usually scammers, hence no pay!
The seller being only one feedback rating would make me walk on the spot, I've sold and bought lots of cars off ebay, and this seller hasn't provided enough good pics to show the car is really clean, see any inside wheel well pics or underneath pics?
Unless you can see the car in person, don't buy it.
With no history, and an auction buy, its probably being dumped for a reason.

Don't buy it unless you or someone you trust goes and looks at it. That ebay ad is for no reserve with a really low floor so I'm thinking he just wants to dump this thing.

Post an ad in the regional section and see if someone near bel air (really close to baltimore I believe) will go look at it. I'd do it for you but I'm stupid busy the rest of this week and all weekend.

My problem with the car is the mileage. This is the kind of a car
that needs to go on the rack for a through inspection. It may
be pretty on the outside but inside is what counts. A good
mechanic will tell you what's wrong with the car. C-5 are a
good bargain now and will become more so when the C-7 is
introduced. Take your time shopping below 10k is very possible
just remember vettes will drop so far in price then they start
up just look at C-1 and C-2's. And the sky is the limit!!

there are a lot of really nice C5's out there. if it is a matter of cost (your budget), then obviously the less expensive the car the more you can expect to be less than a 10 (ie: higher mileage, obvious wear interior and exterior, tires in need o replacement sooner than later, etc). did you check the for sale section here on the forum?? lots of nice cars for sale and you might find something close enough to your location to actually go and look at it. my opinion is if it were a bargain and worth it, it would have sold locally (after all the guy is a dealer).
