I bought a 2001 C 5 coupe about two years ago and now I am having problems all over the place. It started with the A/C making noise and so I had the compressor replaced. Then the active handling system light said to get it serviced. By the way I also had the delco battery replaced about a year ago with a new one of the same type. That is when the problems started. I took it back to the dealer in Surprise AZ and they said I needed a new PCM module which they replaced. Now the A/C will go out and the active handling system light comes on and says to get it services and not to drive over 80 mph. The brakes light also comes on and a low oil light comes on. The right hand door will not lock with the contols on the door or key phob. The dealer tells me I am looking at $2700 to $4500 to repair. I am not mechanically inclined. Does any one know of a reasonable repair shop in the Phoenix area that can help me out.

Run the codes and post them. Before you start take a pen and paper with you and write down the codes and post them....
Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
Press the "reset" button to turn off any warning messages

i can't say for sure, but a lot of wierd problems are attributed to low battery voltage in these cars. the a/c compressor obviously wasn't battery related, but you might want to check the voltage at rest [car not running] and running to check the alternator output. you should be showing about 14.1 volts when running.
hopefully someone will chime in on the minimum voltage you should have at rest. with a properly working charging system you could still have an issue with the battery no matter how new it is.

Since so many "Weird" problems are going on I would check for a common culprit....this being a grounding problem.....

FWIW, the C-5 is susceptable to voltage( batterty/ground) problems.
You said you had the battery replaced a year ago.
First I'd take it to a service that can check the battery for reserve power and cranking power. I'd also start educating my self (or get a reputable service) to check out all connections including the grounds. Living in Arizona you shouldn't have too much of a corrosion problem with the grounds, however, any loose conection or poor ground wil cause all kinds of weird problems. The air conditioner compressor noise is likely a separate problem from the other problems you're seeing. The probem started when the battery was replaced, thus I'd go check (right now) the tightness of the battery cables. Do not over tighten them, but they should not turn on the posts when you twist on them.

The videos in this thread was dealing specifically with the C5 column lock issue, but Paul Koerner, A GM World Class tech and Corvette expert, talks about the importance of having the "correct" battery. And the importance of having that battery up to specs.
He also makes a point on stressing the importance of tightening the cables to the battery at the specified 11 lb ft torque.
