double din radio
Hey guys In the middle of building a double din bezel for my 98 coupe. What is the width on a double din radio just under 7 inches? and where is a good place to get a touch screen nav head unit for around 300 bucks. I found a cheapo unit by DUAL but I dont know how good they are?

You can get a DD non-NAV for around $500. Allows IPOD connectivity, DVD/CD, etc., but no NAV.

Yea everything is apart now figured i may get a cheapo to hold me over so I can finish the project I started on my mod blue interior so Im spending an arm and a leg on metalic blue paint and clear coat already then I got mod fever and started with the bezel

BTW, I just received my package this past Saturday, a Pioneer AVIC with the bezel modification and all the necessary parts.

The opening in mine is 6 and 3/4 by 3 and 3/4. C5BearsFan (Dennis) built it for me.
You could keep an eye on the C6 parts for sale section and pick a C6 DD up fairly cheap. However, they are getting swapped out because they are not as good quality as the after market units. You should consider the one that C5BearsFan is offering.

There is a dimming feature yes
you will connect it to the HVAC harness to get these features to work.
As far as how dim. Well its not as bright I can say as it woulf be if you dont connect it the correct way.
Sorry i have never been asked how dim before. Heck I have not driven my own car car at night in 4 years to even be able to tell you how dim mine gets
