HUH !?!?!?! I thought these were running boards for guys like me that have the standard 4x4 stance. These give me something to stand on to help me climb up into my vette.

Side skirts !
What do they do? I have no idea.... Seriously, they relate to ground forces in road racing, hence, the references to the C5R vehicles and the ZR1. For us common folks the main benefit is rocker protection. If you put your car on a lift and see the effects of road debris you will know what I am referring to here. My car will be 15 years old next month, and I gotta tell you it looks ugly under there. Most of the gloss is gone from the paint and there are all sorts of nicks and scrapes that over time will only get worse. None of this is visible standing outside the car thankfully, but if you plan to keep your car a looooooong time like me it makes sense to reduce the damage. The way mine is set up it will also prevent dirt streaks that until now were visible just above the rocker. If you drive through a mud puddle you will see what I mean. Others might chime in with their reasons for liking/doing this mod.

Very similar product...I like the Miratec too....the key is one side has to be smooth, unless you want your corvette to look like lumber is stuck on the car. I'll have to check the pricing on it...would be great if it is cheaper than Home Depot's....thanks for the tip!
