Nothing is wrong at all I only take it to shows now. I have replaced everything with all new parts and a $13k paint job. i am just tired of the wasted time trying to sell as a whole car. I asked $15k and got more promises than real offers.

Auto trader got me 2 pet offers and an old Camaro with some cash.Ebay was filled with bids but died short of the reserve and lowering it did not help them as they retracted offers then. I will start posting parts in the next week if i don't sell it by this weekend.

Unless you need the money it'd probably be better to keep the car in one piece and sell it. Some of the parts on your car might bring a little money but most of the used stock C5 pieces are close to worthless.
It usually only makes sense to part out a car that has been damaged beyond reasonable repair... If you part it out you will be staring at a lot of pieces of the car for a long time.

that and you have to come to the realization that at your asking price of $15k, it's a bit on the pricey side. i would continue to go to shows with a for sale sign on it. that is probably where a car like that will generate the most interest (as a show car). unfortunately, most of your prospective "buyers" are simply looking at the car as a much older C5. everything you may have put into it are lost on them. having built and shown a lot of cars for the past 20 years, i can certainly tell you that it is tough to get someone to recognize a show vehicle for what it is. unless you make the big time and have top awards from major national events, unfortunately what you have for sale is just an older vette in most peoples minds. parting it out will never get you near what you are asking for it as a whole car. the energy and effort to part it out will become self defeating for you in very short order in my opinion.

All good suggestions, even though you're tried of trying to sell, you have to think about how much you might make in parting, plus your time and effort in taking parts off and shipping and having the hulk sitting around for who knows how long. If you want it gone maybe reduce the price enough vs. what you think you can get in parts and your time which is certainly worth something. Just an other thought. Good luck

I think I would keep trying to sell it as a complete car. Maybe lower the price a bit, advertise in some different places, and see what happens. Parting it out might bring you some quick sales, but I'm not sure it would get you the $15K you're asking now.
Thanks everyone I have decided to just keep it for now. i went to a Friday night gathering and after listening to all the comments from the people walking around it convinced me to keep showing it.Not ready to let go just yet.
It's the nature of things that you build, while you know how much it costs to bring a car to the level of what you want. Others are just as serious to tell you, you ain't got #$@ and just take what's lowballed you. Most guys just look for a easy deal. Keep it and force the fools to find their own car and build what they want and stay away from your ride.
I've built many custom bikes and cars so have learned early on to keep what I build and if someone makes a "reasonable" offer, I'll consider. I just keep 'em until then.
