Default Are these good mods??

Hi,

I've been looking for the right car for quiet a while, but still not had any luck.

There is one I'm looking at, but it's not exactly what I've been looking for.

I've been looking for stock C5Z, and intend to keep it as light weight as possible, (stock wheels and catback, remove A/C etc) and if it's got headers & X then great!

The one I'm kinda considering is right, but it also has:

INTRAX SUSPENSION - Not herd of this before, is it good?

BLACKWING INDUCTIOIN KIT - I was intending to fit a Vararam as I hear it is the best.

C6 ZO6 BRAKES WITH 18" ZO6 ALLOYS - I prefer the look of stock C5 wheels and understand the brakes are more than adequate, and hear the C6 rims & discs are heavy compaired to stock C5Z. So how much weight is this set up adding?

SPORTS EXHAUST - Looks to be stock titanium catback, so I guess headers??

What do you think? It's not my 'ideal' car, but the bigger wheels and calipers do look impressive, but I'm starting to think I should just keep on looking.....

The car you're looking at seems to be setup as a track car, which sounds perfect for you. I wouldn't assume it's got headers, or other specific mods without confirming it. I'm not a trakkie (pun intended) and I've never heard of that suspension, either, but you can surely research it here, and elsewhere on the net. The C6 wheels can be heavy repros, or just stock (C6) alloys, which aren't as heavy, but you're correct, the stock wheels are lighter.

Hi zeevette,

Thanks for your reply.

I hear what you're saying about the exhaust, double checking with the owner on that.

As far as I can see the Intrax is 2" springs.

And thanks for the tip about the possible heavy repos Is there a way to tell the difference between the two?

So any idea roughly how much weight the c6 wheels, and brake set up is adding?

Cheers fro the help

I have to ask why remove the AC if it is working? Are your plans to track the car only? Is it going to be a daily driver? Your questions make me think you are moving up to a corvette and might want to re-think the ac removal.

Weekend car with some track use.

I live in the UK, so AC is something I can live without, and wanna keep the curb weight down as much as possible.

Was planning to strip my WS6 interior, but I rather sell it complete and upgrade to the Z

So any idea how much weight the c6 wheels, and brake set up is adding?
