Default C5 vert swaybar question

I have searched but did not see an answer to my question, constructive replies welcome.

I have a stock 2001 convertible and one of my friends has a c5z06 that he just put T1 sways on...

that being said.. if i bought his z's sways, comes with Pfadt bushings, metal endlinks (for $100), would they be a great improvement over my stock ones? could there be any negative side effects i should be aware of?

thanks again,

dave

Does it lean too much for you in the curves NOW? Do you autocross or anything?

Better stuff to spend $$ on than sway bars if you don't really hit the twisties.

I installed C5 Z06 sway bars on my 2004 C5 vert when I upgraded to larger wheels/tires. I felt an immediate improvement in cornering and control. My 0.02!

And maybe it was the TIRES that made the difference. Skidpad #'s would be interesting on these upgrades (not what you butt felt).

One of the must do upgrades is the swaybars.

C5Z06 swaybars, plus endlinks and poly bushings will cost you about $400 at GMPartsHouse. It used to be the thing to do, until the C6Z51 bars became available. Those are slightly bigger than the C5Z06 bars, and a direct placement. New, this will cost close to $300.

So yeah, if you can C5Z06 bars for $100, I'd snap them up quick. Seriously, one of the best performance mods you can make. Car feels fully planted afterwards.

On my 2000 coupe I put on ZO6 sway bars and springs. Also added a E.E. tunnel plate and Bilstein sport shocks. I love the difference it made to the car.

But my Butt does get a vote.

BTW - I installed the Z06 sway bars one month before I installed the new tires/wheels and still felt improved cornering.

...but thanks for playing.

I put the Z06 sway bars on my 2003 coupe many years ago. Even my wife could tell an improvement in the cornering. I'd say go for it. It is an improvement over stock and one that you will enjoy!

This addition would bring a big smile to your face and make the car much more fun to drive. I have a complete Z06 suspension under my 2004 CE. You should also change out your shocks to the C6 Z06 units. It will handle better and is a great improvement over stock.

For 100 bucks I'd do it. My car had c6 z51 shocks when I bought it, I added the c6 z51 swaybars and a tunnel plate and love the results!

Bigger sway bars and C-6 Z06 shocks are one of the cheapest and best mods to a C-5, if you like driving the twisties.

Not only will the bar improve handling, but the metal end links are much better also. You get my vote for spending the $100 and the install won't take long either.

What's the major difference or improvement of the C6 Z06 shocks vs. the C5 Z06 shocks? How are both compared to stock suspension shocks?
