Squeaky steering wheel
When you turn the steering wheel, you may hear a squeak. It's just the plastic surfaces rubbing against each other. A shot of lubricant fixes this.
My question is.... where? What are the plastic surfaces being referred to here? The squeak on my 01Z is horrible, even with the radio up!
The only plastic I see is where the SWPS is located at the base of the column. (Note: I am also getting a C1287 code for a failing SWPS)
My squeak does seem to be coming from somewhere close to the firewall (could a failing SWPS really cause a squeak?)but from what I see, there is no where down there to "shoot lubricant" ( )
Mice may be !!!....they will do that when u squash them ....lol.. mine did the same when I pulled out on to the street and on the turns it would squeak so I drove to the shop started checking my tire pressure .... guess what it was low ...it was like 10 or 5 psi...cause I swear I looked at the tires when j pulled out of the garage they looked fine .....now I never judge by the look ...just my 5 c......
