Thx again. Even tho this question might be redundant. I need all the imfo I can get Since this purchase will be a tough one as it looks like I will have to travel as far away as 1000 miles to find a yellow pristine. Looks like fly somewhere then drive it home.
2002 and later cars have had alot of the bugs worked out that they found in earlier models. Not saying that earlier models are bug riddled. All C5s are GREAT cars. But like jrose7004 said "Buy the newest one you can afford". You can't go wrong with any C5... Good Luck on your purchase...Please post pics when you get it home....
My 2001 had the oil burning issues. Bought it with 21k miles, she has 44k miles now about every 1k miles she needs half a quart with normal driving. I did a lot of canyon carving with her the first year, and went througb a quart of oil every 1k miles. Also is pretty noisy on cold starts bit as the oil warms up, she quiets down some. My dad still has her as I have moved onto a 2000 that was supercharged, sold it with 134k miles, now I have a 99 FRC with 65k miles(25k miles on the 402) pushing 700 hp to the wheels. I personally would avoid the '01's unless I planned on going through the engine at some point. There really isnt a bad year though. From 97-04, they are all great cars.
Thx for your opinion. Seems like most other opinions on the 01 oil issue is. Dont worry just buy it if its a clean car. You have owned an 01 and i respect your thought. You have been there.

I wouldnt pass up a good 2001 if it came a long. Not all of them had the oil burning issues.01 and newer also had the newer traction control system, and ls6 block and intake manifold. Just buy the car that steals your heart. It doesnt matter what year it is.
