Headers and being slammed?
My car is in the weeds pretty good. I am getting ready to have a new RPM transmission installed and thought it would be a good time for headers since will require a tune. Yep....I know, good excuse to get headers. What do you guys recommend? Car is blown and do not want to change all the pulleys and belts for the 1 3/4, so will be going with the 1 7/8. Is that correct? Want headers that will not hang too low(lower than car). Suggestions

Why would you have to change the pulleys/belts for 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8? Anywho, I have LG pro's 1 7/8 with the car dropped on coilovers and don't have any problems scraping them.

Thanks fellas! Would I have to change pulley(s) depending on size I go with? Are some headers going to hang lower or all pretty much the same?

That being said, the size does NOT matter either for how low they hang....it depends on the BRAND because each brand has their unique design for the pipes......HOWEVER, any reputable brand can assure you that with proper installation, you should not have any parts hang too low below the bottom under-area of the car
I run XS power headers with B&B Bullets and my car is lowered.....use 3" cylindrical band clamps...and have not had a scraping issue (BUT...I always take a dip or bump at a 45 degree angle just to be safe

You will not have to change any pulleys or belt with 1 3/4, 1 7/8, or ARH's 2". Why and where did you get this idea that you have to change pulleys/belts for headers? I have never heard of such a thing on ANY vehicle for headers...
And on topic as Vetteman Jack stated, LG, Kooks, or ARH are all excellent brands with great service that you can not go wrong with!

I have the LG Pro's & your car looks as low as mine. The headers tuck in nicely, no issues. You will hit many things below the car before the headers hit....LOL

I'm running ARH and lowered, the only time I've had them scrap was a speed bump that was a little higher that the norm.

There's no doubt, that the fitment of AR headers will tuck in better than pretty much any other brand. I know for a fact that the LG's hang lower. Not by much, but they do.
With that said, I find it funny that the only people who hit thier headers all run ARH.

What scrapped on my ARH was the flange on the passenger side as the one bolt hole is lower on that side. Guess it's the way the header is made.
