Well Extravetteganza was nice. And its even nicer when the other people at the show look out for one another. I have a $200 dollar mirror kit in my trunk. Guess whats coming out. Well the mirror was magnifying the suns rays and burned a line in my trunk but the nearby participants put it out and put down my trunk lid to prevent it from happening again.

Now I have to replace my carpet. I have a subwoofer in the trunk. How would I get a lloyds to fit in there?

If I fiberglassed the inside the trunk lid Do you think it would do the same thing?

Nah I am going to take the mirrors out completely. I have to replace the carpet which sucks. But I am going to build a fiberglass panel for the trunk lid to house some screens and speakers. I was wondering if anyone attempted to do this before and had any problem like I encountered today.

Btw until the panel is completed I am going get some peagan gold candy and spraying over the mirrors to reduce light transmission. Those mirrors should come with a warning label. Haha

Good thing the people around your car were paying attention. Glad it didn't end up worse than it did.

Your so right. I am thankfull. I had just walked away from it less than 3 minutes prior. I even looked in there because leaves from this tree kept on flying in there. For me lesson learned. Out of 180 vettes I was the only one with that mirror kit. Now I understand why Goes to show you the power of the suns reflection. I wish that I would have won the 50/50 though cause that woulda helped out lol. All in all a good nice day

You certainly have to watch stuff like that at a car show. I have some shiney stainless stuff that I have to put a towel over from time to time.

Was there and heard the announcement on the PA about your car. Didn't know the specifics at the time, but glad it worked out. Fiberglass fires (cars or boats) are NASTY things.

Thanks. My gf and I were the youngest participants there and we noticed that no one else had those mirrors in the trunk. After that happened to us we figured yall knew better lol. But I learned alot from that show. Will be attending next year but with a revamped concept. I already started ordering parts

IIRC something like this happened to Dennis recently with a mirror under the hood. It's a good thing someone saw it AND did something about it.
