I posted a few days ago about the headlamps dimmming intermittently while on a short evening drive.
I've had the car just a week from storage and maybe I'm off track or have forgotten, but noticed when I unlocked the car with #1 fob, sometimes I see a flash from the lights as the car unlocks, other times I do not.
For the first time yesterday, unlocking the car in the same manner, no flash, the seat memory did not adjust when I put the key in. Would not move when I pushed #1 manually. Had to adjust the seat with the power controls.
Has this problem been dealt with before or anyone experiencing anything similar. Could drive the car to GM and let them try to fix it, I know, but would like to go there with a liitle more info. Thanks
I have not seen your exact problems, but I have had intermittent seat memory occur several times. When it happens the seat moves backwards (and away from my seating position) when I stick the key in instead of forwards (I have the easy entry feature turned on). Its like the memory button is active just going in the wrong direction. Hitting the button again moves the seat to the proper location.
Also one thing to do is replace the Delco battery with a better one (I used an Optima Red). I was getting "Charge Faults" on my car until I replaced the battery. The Chevy dealership was willing to replace my battery for free but with another Delco. I spoke to some folks and they said just get a better part...
Did you replace your battery yet ? My '98 did strange things like that after I did a battery change.
The problem was taken care of by holding both buttons on the fob down and doing a relearn on them, I also reprogramed the memory buttons on the door after the fob relearn.
Kick that Delco battery to the curb ! :smash:
My '02 seems to only flash the lights during disarm wit the key fob if it's dark out. During the day it doesn't flash them. I think this is normal. The other 2 symptoms are unusual.
When I purchased my 2002 EB Z06, I asked about available security options such as LoJack. They did offer LoJacks, and said they sold a lot of them, but interestingly enough they recommended against it with the Corvette. Through all the double-speak and rambling, the impression I was left with was that the electrical system on the Vette is pretty 'sensitive' as it is, and the addition of other products (they didn't limit it to LoJack) could negatively impact the system. I ended up leaving it stock (after another conversation with my insurance company), and haven't had any real problems so far--except for my question on the rev limiter discussed in a separate post and the fact that the headlights seem to dim more than I would expect when the side windows are raised or lowered.
My headlights dim momentarily (split second) when I touch the brakes. A lot of C5 posters have complained about this...believe this comes with the territory.
