I asked about which exhaust to try for my '04. Did not want anything loud especially in the interior. I purchased and installed MA Quad Power, over the rear axle. Installed them and the wife will not drive with me any more! I know for some of you that would be OK!
Mid-America won't do anything as I have them installed and 100 miles on them. They suggested I sell them on EBay.
What exhaust should I have installed? (Don't tell me another MA as that won't happen.)

man do i know where your coming from ,but with a twist .i purchased the m a quad power .anyway they were not straight ...took them to 3 different shops the left side would not line up .but the sound was great ,and the wife loved them .in fact she loved to put her foot in it ....but being crooked got the best of me .so i took them off and sold them to a buddy .now he doesnt care if their crooked he just loves the sound .so i got some corsa pace ,and yes i do have the x pipe .now my car is so quiet i cant stand it and the wife doesnt like it at all .in fact she says its boring to drive .so now what .i hate drone so im afraid to take out the x pipe .but i gotta admit its as quiet as factory exhaust .good luck to u .....
As another option, you can have the muffler shop cut and weld a pair of resonators in-line with the exhaust. That's the setup I have on my Borla Stingers.
Still sounds mean as hell when I want it to, but no drone when cruising.
Not to hyjack but does a stock ls1 with stock exhaust, mufflers deleted sound good. I just dont like the sound of these new systems im hearing. Love the sound of the c2 c3 but the c5 just dont get it for me. Old vettes have a deep sound that I love.
Don't know if this will help, but I have experimented with exhausts ever since I purchased my car 4 years ago. Here's what I've done over that time...
- Z06 Ti's: Not much louder than stock. Was very disappointed.
- Borla Stingers: Much louder and way deeper. Sounded very good and cabin noise did not distract too much.
- American Racing Headers: Adding long tube headers make the Borlas much, much, much louder. Sounded great but was way too much. Couldn't carry a conversation inside the car and brought on way too much attention.
- AR Headers w/ Z06 Ti's: Was very disappointed again. Car sounded like it went back to stock.
- AR Headers w/ Modded 1.5" Bypass Z06 Ti's: Car sounds great all the time. The car is fairly loud, especially at WOT but never does it sound obtrusive. Am able to easily carry conversations inside the cabin. Was great during long roadtrips. For me, this is the perfect combination! Has a very exotic tone.

First best question is what doesn't your wife like about the system you put on, too loud, drone at idle WOT, etc., what are her specific issues and we can give you lots better detail on how to help. Regardless you may still have to sell the current ones yourself since its unlikely they can be returned, good luck.

We can not carry on a conversation due to the drone!

I have these on mine - great sound, no drone. They do get loud when you really get on the gas though. You could go with the touring model - I believe that is a bit less aggressive.
I had a set of the B&B Route 66 on my last car - they were a very good system but lots of drone and popping until I installed an x-pipe.

Exhaust systems on our cars are akin to lubricants. That is ,everyone likes something different. I went through two aftermarket systems to get to where I wanted to be. The best thing that you can do is go to the Corvette shows or Club events or Corvettes at Carlisle , and listen to , or better yet , get the Corvette owners to take you for a ride. It's hard to determine what you want from a sound clip online because it doesen't represent living with that particular exaust system after you install it. Best of luck!
