[Z06] Is the Vortech Supercharger Reliable?

Is the Vortech Supercharger Reliable?
I wanted to know how reliable is a C5 Z06 with a vortech supercharger will be. Car is currently making 480rwhp. Will the stock clutch be able to handle this and for how long? Is the stock motor without any upgrades able to take this? Anyone with similar setup please chime in on your experience and suggestions.

I had the A&A kit on my 02 z06 for about 15,000 miles. Not a single issue. The car was bone stock other than headers and the kit. Also swapped out the valve springs. About 8psi and 500whp. I think it corrected to 590ish whp, but I'm at 7000 feet.
The stock clutch held the power fine, but it would get sticky after a couple WOT runs. I swapped the fluid religiously and it seemed fine. The car had 30k miles.

No, I sold the car. No reason other than someone offered me a decent amount. I have a basically stock 04 z06 now and am definitely thinking about going the A&A route yet again. I miss everything about it for sure. I'm 23 years old, and the car was my daily driver. I drove the hell out of it for those 15,000 miles and didn't have a single problem. The sound that blow off valve makes is just amazing.
It's nice being able to use first gear again, but that's about the only con I could think of. Gas mileage was still pretty good for what it was, and daily driveability didn't change at all. I'd say doing it the "right" way would add things like a better clutch and a DTE brace for safety. I never planned on taking the car to the track, so I didn't worry about things like a built diff, trans, etc.

In my case, I had street tires that made first gear completely useless. Second gear was alright, but they still spun pretty much the entire time. Still, the car was a blast to drive lol. Hooked perfectly in 3rd and was a monster on the highway. If I threw a set of DR's on it and took it to the track, I wouldn't be surprised if stuff started breaking/failing pretty quick.

I put almost 27k miles on my 99FRC with a 402 and Vortech T Trim. Never had a problem at all with the Vortech or Andy's Bracket. Could not have asked for a better perfoming product and design.

If the stock clutch holds where you are now, just keep the fluid clean, and use it 'till you lose it. I had to change clutch before I even thought about adding the Vortech, and I had the SC for about 3 mos before a hard 3-4 shift shattered the diff.

The head units are fine. I believe the issue was with belt routing/tension. The A&A kit using the Vortech head units has a much better mounting setup. I have been looking at them myself.

I had an AA kit on my Z06. 581whp at 8psi. Thing was bulletproof and worked flawlessly. I took it off because I got pulled over every time I drove the car. Got tired of the bs.

6-year-old thread bump. Brilliant.
