Caliper rust question?

Caliper rust question?

Got a new 03 C5 and the rust below the calipers looks terrible. I'm gonna remove the calipers and paint them red and highlight the Corvette in white, but the rust in the area below where the pads really is noticeable. Any way to clean this up and make it look good? Thanks in advance.

LOL, Not sure what you are talking about, I am guessing you are talking about the rotors center. If that is the case you can paint them or they sell a thing called Hat for them.

Paint the hat or get zinc dipped rotors.

...and don't paint the rotor hat the same color as your calipers, paint them BLACK, you do not want to see them.

I dont agree. I painted them the same color(red) as my calipers and they look great....IMO, and most eveyone who has noticed them.

Yes I'm talking about the rotor centers. What exactly is Hat? and who sells it? The previous owner lived near the ocean so rust was an issue. Thanks for the help.

I like the zinc-dipped better. Clean them up every now and then, with a lil steel wool, and you're good to go.

Yes... use high temperature paint. Caliper paint works well... Paint them black.

Just paint the rotor hats with hi-temp paint in silver, grey or black.

If it works for you have at it, but... they don't come like that oem, or aftermarket on a Z06, or on any car I know of.

If you chrome everything, nothing stands out.
If you paint everything...
